Cardiopulmonary (Chest) Physiotherapy / Rehabilitation
Cardiopulmonary (Chest) Physiotherapy is helpful for patients who suffer from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) – often termed Emphysema, Bronchiectasis, Cystic Fibrosis, chronic bronchitis, pneumonia and asthma. Our Physiotherapists are experienced in the management of these conditions and are able to assist with in clinic treatment as well as home strategies consisting of specific breathing exercises and a general management program.
Cardiac rehabilitation is often required following multiple forms of cardiac surgery and is often recommended following your discharge from hospital. Extreme care must be taken following your surgery to ensure the correct steps are taken to provide you with safe and effective ways of increasing your tolerance to physical activity. Our Exercise Physiologists have the specific tool set required to assist you following your cardiac surgery and will ensure a safe transition back into physical activity.
